All rights reserved. Masai MaraSafari is the swahili word for "travel". But for tourists in Africa it has a very special meaning. How can you visit Kenya without going on safari at least once? The Mara is the place where most people go. Huge and rich on wildlife and famous from countless nature films about the Serengeti/Masai Mara plains. Masai Mara is a National Reserve administered by the Masai people of Narok. This means that the Masai can use the area and graze their cattle inside the reserve. The villages are found outside the reserve. The Masai tribe has managed (on good and bad) too stay out of the development of the rest of Kenya. Masai tradition and lifestyle has not changed much, but the the space for Masai and their cattle has decreased. |
